There are dozens of flight spots around our base in the French Alps. World famous such as Col de la Forclaz (Annecy) and Saint Hilaire du Touvet (known from the Coupe Icare), and beautiful unknown gems such as the Dent du Chat, Chamoux Sur Gelon and Val Pelouse. Each site has its own character and its own details.
Together with your flight sizes you determine which place we are going to fly on. You view the cutting information, the aviation card, the notams, the weather forecast and together make a plan for the flying day. Every day on an adventure!
Of course there is guidance but the instructor is flying as a coach. Because for this internship your level is so high that you can do everything independently, from start to landing. Your license is not yet necessary but a good dose of self -confidence. Because who knows, you might be the last one who starts and you have to do it on your own! Or how about countries in an unknown area?
This Bergvliegen course is also for pilots with B2 or B3 license, and for first overland flights!
The learning objectives of the Stekensafari Deltavliegen:
- Collecting and assessing cutting information independently
- Make well -considered choices around flying
- Fly without the help of an instructor, together with your flight sizes
- Putting your knowledge about the weather and the landscape into practice
- Flight planning and flight evaluation, including GPS tracks
- Self -reflection and feedback between flying sizes
Program
On the first day you check your material yourself and there is a briefing on the landing site of Col du Sapenay. If you have arrived before and if you have your license, you can also fly that day. The first flying day we start on Col du Sapenay. There we check whether all participants at the entrance level: Start well and safely, fly and landings independently. If that succeeds for everyone and the goal landings are successful, then we can go on safari!
Every evening we discuss the flight plans for the next day. Early in the morning there is a short check and we leave for the chosen flight. There we make 1 or 2 flights and then we return to the campsite. If the weather is so bad that there is no flying anywhere, then we choose a different activity, from via Ferrata to wine tasting, it's all possible.
They are full days: count on being active from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. The fitter you are, the more you can fly! We regularly do food together; We cook a bit at the landing site, get a little on the road or make something together when you return to the campsite, while discussing the plan of the next day.

NB!

I went to France a few times with Heleen, and that was very pleasant and educational.
