    Learn hang gliding on the Lier

    The ideal starting method for flatland flying: winching. A cable pulls you upward, after which you search for thermals yourself. This specialization for advanced students learn you how winching works and offer a completely different experience of flying over flatland. Once you've earned rating rating your Brevet 2, you can join winch clubs in the Netherlands and abroad! This internship is for pilots who can already fly solo fairly independently, with little or no winching experience.

    In the specialization Lieren you learn all the ins and outs of starting with the help of a Lieramachine, one of the most used starting methods in Vlakland. You also work on your autonomy and flying in challenging circumstances.

    At the end of this internship you will be able to start operating the winch independently and you will have been able to practice everything you need for the KNvVL Brevet 2 with winch rating .

    Program and daily schedule

    The days on the Lierterrein are nice and relaxed. In principle, we start at 10:00 am and fly until 6:00 pm. That is intensive enough; Especially with a small group this requires quite a bit of your fitness.

    You'll make as many takeoffs as possible to master the technique. We'll start with "short runway," short, straight-ahead flights of less than a minute to practice your takeoff. If that goes well, we'll move on to the long runway for flights up to about 300 meters.

    Planning DFA3 winches

    A winch course lasts 4 days. Each course has a reserve block in case the weather does not cooperate. So always book both dates in your agenda!
