Introduction with two tandem flights
Open all your senses in the introductory hang gliding course, where you'll experience flight in its purest form. Enjoy the majestic view and feel the thrill of taking the controls for the first time.
First flight – experience the freedom
During your first flight, the focus is on experiencing what it's like to soar and get used to the altitude and the feeling. During free-floating, you briefly take control. Between flights , you practice steering again in the frame or simulator, and you can recover.
Second flight – a real training flight
Now that you know what to expect, it's time to actively participate. You'll help track the tow plane and learn essential flight control techniques during your descent. The instructor will safely handle the landing.

New in 2026: the introductory weekend. Want more than two tandem flights but don't want to book the entire beginner's course? Book one block of lessons as an introductory lesson and join the regular lessons. You can also camp at the airfield!
After the weekend, you're not committed to anything. If you enjoy it, you can continue directly with the rest of your flight training. Starting this summer, we'll only be offering the weekend course.
Course content
Program of the day
We schedule the flights during the quietest times of the day, either early in the morning or late in the day. The two flights along with the rest of the program, take about half a day. After booking, you'll be told whether that's morning or evening.
Flight planning
We only fly in safe weather conditions. Therefore, you'll receive a definitive go/no-go decision two evenings before the course due to weather conditions. If the course cannot go ahead, you can choose a new date yourself.

This was fantastic! There's a relaxed atmosphere at the airfield, along with the other hang gliders . You get the necessary explanation, but the emphasis is on flying: you learn a little on the ground, but mainly in the air. You're pulled up by a small plane, and I felt truly free as a bird once the drag was released. Heleen's lessons are customized, so my personal situation was taken into account. Heleen is a pleasant, relaxed instructor with an eye for detail. If you'd like to experience flying or are considering a more comprehensive course, this introductory course is highly recommended.

On April 6, 2025, I took the introductory course with my son. I'd been thinking about it for a long time and finally took the plunge. Two flights . It was amazing to be towed up by Rinus on his DragonFly and then soar like a bird. Heleen knows what she's talking about, is 100% professional, and understands that you might be a little nervous. Incredible experience. Heleen has been great from start to finish with her communication and coordination ahead of the day and then also in managing to get us in the air for 2 flights on a day where the wind was quite temperamental. Flying was priceless, the feeling was incredible and learning some of the technique with the simulator helped when we gave steering a go during our second flight.
