In the Air Towing Skills Clinic for experienced hang gliders, you learn to launch behind a tow plane. You'll begin with a comprehensive briefing and one or more tandem flights , so you know exactly what to expect. Then you'll fly solo with a single-towing tow plane in calm air. If you're comfortable with that, you'll be able to launch in increasingly turbulent conditions and on days with stronger winds.
If you fly a faster device yourself, you switch as soon as you can keep the single -door without vultures neatly behind the Dragon Fly in all circumstances.
On the ground, you learn about towing operations and ground etiquette, tow lines and breakage, aerodynamics during air towing , dolly adjustment, and emergency procedures. After that, it's all about doing lots of fun flying. By the end of the skills clinic, you'll have enough experience to air towing in mild thermal conditions and to continue developing independently.

Program and daily schedule
The program of this skills clinic consists of three parts.
Part 1
The first day starts with a comprehensive briefing and one or more tandem flights . Once you understand the principle of air towing , you'll transition to solo flights.
Part 2
You build up your device, together with the instructor de Bridles, releases and the Dolly and you will again extensively go through your flight plan. Then you make your first solo tug start -up in quiet air, at the beginning and end of the day. After flying, we look at the images and discuss your progress.
Part 3
You are now independently preparing your equipment and flight planning. You discuss your flight plan with the instructor, and together you gradually increase the difficulty level by air towing in increasingly turbulent air.
You'll make a maximum of three flights per day. The first few days are just after sunrise and just before sunset, and the last few days are more mid-day.
Including and exclusive
The Air Towing Skills Clinic includes towing costs and third-party liability insurance. It excludes the mandatory tandem launch(s), the use of school equipment, other insurance, and a field fee of €15 per day, including camping. This field fee will be settled with you afterward.
Planning Skills Clinic Sleep rating
The Sleep rating Skills Clinic consists of three blocks. Parts 1 and 2 are in the first block, and Part 3 is spread over two additional blocks.
When registering above you will see the next start date with the corresponding follow -up data. If they do not fit, you can also book without a fixed start date. We will then plan your clinic in consultation.
The blocks start on Friday afternoon and run until Sunday afternoon.
