Description

expect this

In the skills clinic drag for experienced delta pilots you learn to start behind a towing plane. You start with an extensive briefing and one or more tandem flights, so that you know what to expect. Then you go solo with a single -door in quiet air. If that goes well, you can start in more turbulent conditions and on days with more wind.

If you fly a faster device yourself, you switch as soon as you can keep the single -door without vultures neatly behind the Dragon Fly in all circumstances.

On the ground you learn about the towing company and etiquette on the ground, tow lines and fracture pieces, aerodynamics while dragging, adjusting the Dolly and about emergency procedures. And then it is a lot of doing and flying nice. At the end of the skills clinic you have enough experience to be able to drag in mild thermal conditions and to further develop yourself independently.

Content course :

  • 2 solo flights with extra briefing
  • 10 solo flights in increasingly challenging circumstances
  • Simulatortraining, Material knowledge and theory
  • Drag safety training
  • Video Registration, Self -Evaluation and Feedback
  • Attention to Human Factors and Personal Development
  • Optional: Help in improving your landing skills

Program and daily schedule

The program of this skills clinic consists of three parts.

Part 1

The first day starts with an extensive briefing and one or more tandem flights. As soon as you understand the principle of dragging, switch to solo.

Part 2

You build up your device, together with the instructor de Bridles, releases and the Dolly and you will again extensively go through your flight plan. Then you make your first solo tug start -up in quiet air, at the beginning and end of the day. After flying, we look at the images and discuss your progress.

Part 3

You are now independent in preparing your material and flight planning. You still consult your flight plan with the instructor and together you slowly increase the difficulty level by dragging in more turbulent air.

You make a maximum of 3 flights per day. The first days just after sunrise and just before sunset, the last days also more in the middle of the day.

  • Arrival, course briefing, building material
  • Class flights interspersed with theory assignments
  • Ground exercises and simulator training
  • Flight planning, post -discussion, evaluation
