Next step in collaboration KNVVL

The KNVVL plays an important role for Hang Gliding as a Dutch airport union. We would like to improve our collaboration with the KNVVL to shape the future of the sport together. We regularly keep you informed of what is going on.

Work conference on the future of Hang Gliding

On March 25 there was a work conference about the future of Hang Gliding at the KNVVL. This meeting was organized by the Central Board and the departmental board of the KNVVL. We had controlled such a consultation, because there seemed to be no real vision at the KNVVL about Hang Gliding and the future of our sport. The collaboration was very ad hoc so far, while we would like to work on sustainable cooperation and a future-proof sport.

Proposal strategic cooperation

In August 2024 we made a proposal for strategic cooperation to the Hang Gliding department of the KNVVL. This proposal was discussed, but the department did not yet know exactly which direction they wanted to go as an association. The departmental board has appointed a committee to think about this question. Last Tuesday's consultations were also largely dominated by this issue.

Attendees and organization

The following people were present at the consultation:

KNVVL: Rembert Groenman and Bryan Meyers
DeltaVliegen departmental board: Nico Postma, Eduard van Gameren, Adrie Bijsterbosch (also on behalf of Plus Five) and Serge Koning
Delta Fly Adventures: Heleen van den Bos
trail
triby : KENTERDEN
CONTULTANCY Participants: Rinus in 't Groen, Bart Weghorst, Arne Tänzer

Delegates were also invited to the Hoekse Vliegers, High Five and some young and/or prospective pilots, but unfortunately they were not present. The consultation was led by an external party, Geert Slot.

Discussed topics and follow -up actions

During the consultation, risks, opportunities, visual images and concrete actions were discussed. The Hang Gliding department is currently working on a SWOT analysis and will formalize the actions discussed. The input is also used in drawing up a vision of the sport.

We are happy that as Delta Fly Adventures we have been able to contribute to these conversations with our knowledge and expertise.
