Winching terrain Het Wolkenveld, Nieuw Schoonebeek Starting with the winch is flatland flying par excellence
Wolkenveld
is located just outside Nieuw Schoonebeek. It consists of large plots of organic grassland that we share with the owner, Hans Wolken, and his young cattle. We have a container for equipment storage, a chalet for theory lessons and meals, and we offer camping on the field or B&B accommodation. The site itself is very long and offers many possibilities for beginners and advanced riders. It can also be a wonderful thermal area!

Features of the winch field
The Wolkenveld consists of five plots measuring 80 x 1000 meters and several plots measuring approximately 300 x 200 meters. There's plenty of space, but with crosswinds, we have to consider the ditches between the plots. Naturally, we'll take this into account in our planning.
Address and route
Het Wolkenveld is located behind the farm on Europaweg 233, just outside the village of Nieuw Schoonebeek. If you're coming from the west, first drive out of the village and after about 2 kilometers you'll find number 233 on your left. Slow down at the second bus stop after the village; you're almost there.
- Europaweg 233, New Schoonebeek
- Please note: do not drive onto the property at number 233, but take the asphalt road after number 231!
Then, behind the shed on the right, slide open the large gate, close it again after passing, and drive a short distance. Park behind the blue-green container. We'll also meet at that container on the first day at 10:00 AM.
Active in the area
Lovers of peace and quiet will find everything they're looking for here. The Lier site borders the Bargerveen, a beautiful and unique nature reserve perfect for hiking and cycling. There's also beautiful scenery just across the German border. And did you know that this region has a rich history, first as a peat extraction area and later in oil and gas extraction? There are several museums where you can learn more about this.
Overnight
The winch site has a mini-campsite for tents and a few campers or caravans. There's also a B&B run by "Vrienden op de Fiets" (Friends on Bikes) with several spacious rooms and a dormitory. Campers can also sign up for breakfast, and even a packed lunch is available. A little further afield, there are several other B&Bs, hotels, and other campsites in the area offering more activities for non-flying fellow travelers.
