Introduction Hang Gliding

DFA0 - Introduction course Hang Gliding

First introduction: Tandem lesson flights with instructor

The introductory course is a great introduction to the sport. You make two tandem flights with an instructor, where you experience the magic of floating and get a glimpse into what comes to fly when learning to fly. After practical exercises on the ground and a safety briefing you can take the air in and immediately send something yourself.

DFA0 Introduction Course is the ideal start for when you want to know what Hang Gliding is like before you register and register for the complete training.

Training certificate 1 and more

DFA1 - Beginners course Hang Gliding

Beginners: Tandem lessons and practice slope up to your first solo flight

The beginners course is for people without flying experience and for whom the introduction course has done. It consists of 2 parts:

  • Dfa1 dragging
  • Dfa1 practice slope

At DFA1 you learn to fly with the tandem flyer, with an experienced instructor on your side. You do the flights in the Netherlands, not from a mountain but behind a towing airplane. That pulls or drags the tandem flyer into the air, where you disconnect yourself at height to float quietly. Every flight you do more yourself, until you have the Delta Leager from start up to and including landing. At DFA1 practice slope you now learn to start and land with a solo flyer. If you have both mastered, then it's time for your first solo flight!

DFA1 dragging consists of 20 duo flights, dfa1 practice slope from 4 days of lessons on the practice slope. DFA1 includes ground exercises with a solo flyer, simulator training and theory lessons. With DFA1 dragging and DFA1 practice slope you amply meets the requirements for Brevet 1 of the KNVVL.

The basis for Brevet 2

DFA2 -Follow -up course Hang Gliding

Experienced beginner: Solo flying under radio guidance

Dragging the follow -up course is the next step to achieving Brevet 2, the internationally recognized license that you can fly independently with. You learn to fly solo under radio accompaniment, feel your home in the air and you learn more about equipment, regulations, meteorology and flight technology. You also learn to start independently and land, on your feet.

The follow-up course Dragging consists of 20 solo drugstarts including guidance, theory and ground exercises. After this course you can opt for a number of specializations to complete your license.

Certificate 2 and specializations

DFA3 - Dragging follow -up course, winches, mountain flies

Light advanced: Thermal flies and various starting methods

The last stage to your certificate! In DFA3 you can choose from different starting methods: drag, winches, mountain flies and soaren. You perfect your self -knowledge and interpreting the resistant conditions in various terrain, create flight plans independently, check and repair your material and actually no longer need radio guidance. Even if you fly in 'bumpy' air, when it becomes turbulent or thermal. With thermal flies and therefore staying longer in the air, we help you a little. That is not a requirement for the license, but of course the most beautiful thing about the sport!

You get the license 2 with one or more internships at DFA3 level:

  • DFA3 drag: 10 Sleepsstarts for completing the towing note
  • DFA3 winches: 4 days winches for the winch note
  • DFA3 mountain flying: Different courses for the mounting drawing
  • DFA3 Soaren: Single class days for the SOAR notes
Notes and certificate 3

  • Overland training for pilots who want to get certificate 3
  • Training as a tandem pilot, auxiliary instructor, instructor, Lierman and Mentor

All levels: around flying we organize all kinds of activities such as safety clinics, fall training, theory sessions, film evenings, winter training, competitions, fly-ins and community days. These are for pilots of every level.

International Brevet

Ippi-Card World Air Federation

The KNVVL certificates are valid internationally. If you are going to fly outside the Netherlands, it is wise to request the IPPI card of the FAI (World Air Federation). That is a proof of equivalence of your license to an international standard. There is an ippi card for every level, and you request it via the KNVVL.
